Fran Hicks is a self taught artist from Suffolk. Although She has had an interest in art since childhood, She has only been drawing seriously for the past six years.

Fran's interest lies in animal art and wherever possible, She takes the photographs of Her animal subjects Herself.

Fran's medium of choice is pencil crayon, which She feels is a very underrated medium. She prefers pencil crayon drawing as it suits detailed works and does not require a vast array of equipment and can be carried anywhere.

Fran is a Mother to three grown-up daughters and Grandmother to Sophie. Fran is a Nurse working full-time for the local Primary Care Trust so has to plan carefully to include art in Her life.
